Alan Davies

Managing Director Global Development & Chief Financial Officer

Alan Davies was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Rio Tinto Iron Ore in January 2007.  Alan was also appointed Managing Director of Global Development for the product group, assuming responsibility for the Corumba and Orissa projects.

Prior to joining Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Alan held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Rio Tinto Energy America Inc, based in Gillette, Wyoming USA.

Alan began his career with the Rio Tinto Group in 1997 with Pacific Coal in Brisbane, and has subsequently held positions across the Group.  Before joining Rio Tinto, Alan worked at Coopers & Lybrand in Brisbane, now PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney. 

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
