Ian Bauert

Managing Director, Sales and Marketing

Ian Bauert is Managing Director of Sales & Marketing for Rio Tinto Iron Ore based in Perth, Western Australia.

Ian has been with Rio Tinto for 27 years and has held a number of senior positions in the iron ore, industrial minerals and energy commodity groups. In 1983 he established the group's first office in China and spent three years living in Beijing.

Ian holds a Masters of Arts and an Honours Degree from Queensland University and has undertaken management programmes at Harvard University and London Business School.

He is currently Chairman of FORM, a not-for-profit organisation promoting cultural development in Western Australia.
