Jack Sato

Managing Director, Robe River Mining and Pilbara Infrastructure

Jack Sato was appointed Managing Director of Robe River Mining and Pilbara Infrastructure in July 2007.  During the period May 2004 to July 2007 he held the position of Managing Director, Robe River Mining.

Jack first joined the Rio Tinto Group in October 1995 when he became Manager - Marketing Development at Pacific Coal in Brisbane, Queensland.  After a year in this role Jack transferred to RTZ-CRA Japan Ltd in Tokyo as General Manager, Coal.  He remained in Tokyo working in the Rio Tinto Japan office until December 2001 when he transferred to Perth and became General Manager, Marketing for Robe River Limited.

Prior to joining the Rio Tinto group, Jack was employed by Mitsui & Co. Ltd in Tokyo.
