Training and development
Training is an important aspect of attracting and retaining a wide variety of people that, in turn, ensures the ongoing success of our organisation.
Internally, Rio Tinto Iron Ore offers professional development and training opportunities to employees and selected individuals are offered places on specialised development programmes.
Study assistance is also available for approved employees and includes payment of accredited course fees and associated expenses. Our training departments are professionally managed training organisations, and many of our in-house programmes contribute to recognised and transferable credentials.
We train people in programmes designed by industry, to ensure that employees have best-practice skills and that they are competent to perform the tasks required.
