Community Advisory Groups (CAGs)
Community Advisory Groups (CAGs) is one way Rio Tinto Iron Ore stays in touch with local communities. Community Advisory Groups are established in each of Rio Tinto Iron Ore's neighbouring towns in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The aim of the Community Advisory Groups is to provide a forum to discuss community issues that are of mutual concern to both the community and RTIO. From these discussions, key priorities are identified as projects for Community Action Plans.
Each CAG member is appointed to their position for a period of two years. Members represent community interests through their CAG. Participation in the group is voluntary and requires a genuine community-minded approach.
